FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Release No. ANF07-04-01
April, 18, 2007
Aviation Nation 2007 to Reach World via
Live Internet Broadcast
Using WhiteBlox Technology
LAS
VEGAS – The Aviation Nation Foundation (ANF) has partnered with
Internet television leader, WhiteBlox to produce a live Internet
TV broadcast during Aviation Nation 2007–the U.S. Air Force's
60th Anniversary Capstone event scheduled at Nellis Air Force
Base, Nev., Nov. 10-11.
"Nellis Air Force Base is the heart of the Air Force and Las
Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world," said Bob Avery,
chairman of the Aviation Nation Foundation. "This
project brings the best of both together in a patriotic
multimedia extravaganza centered on a salute to America's Airmen
during the U.S. Air Force's 60th Anniversary Heritage to Horizons
celebration."
ANF, which assists in the planning, promotion and execution the
Nellis Air Force Base-Las Vegas Air Show, will work closely with
WhiteBlox to feed a televised on-site broadcast directly to the
Internet for viewers around the world. WhiteBlox is also the
solution of choice for other major events, including the Indy
500 and recently signed an exclusive deal to provide the Indy
Racing League with WhiteBlox's unique online broadcast technology
suite for all practices, time trials, and races through 2009.
"We are excited to have the opportunity to
provide the technology that will showcase Aviation Nation to a
global audience," said WhiteBlox Chairman and CEO, Greg
Demetriades. "Aviation Nation is one of America's premier aviation
events and WhiteBlox's unprecedented levels of interactivity will
provide a unique platform from which to draw a whole new fan
base into the event. We look forward to a win-win partnership
with the Aviation Nation Foundation as our business enters this
new sector."
Taking the 2007 multimedia production to a new
level comes after five years of numerous other electronic media
feats and firsts. Leading the project is Jeff Lee, the Aviation
Nation Foundation's director of media productions. Lee will
oversee all technical aspects, design the overall production and
direct during the live event. A member of the ANF team since
2002, Lee is responsible for many of the 30 national and
international marketing, media and business development awards
ANF and the Aviation Nation Air Show have garnered over the past
five years.
“This year’s event will be shot and produced
in 16:9 wide-screen format and will be broadcast by ANF live on
site on the highest quality large format LED screens available
on the market today,” Lee said. “Impact Audio Visual of Las
Vegas will provide the screens, a production suite and a
multiple cameras to cover the action from the ground.
“In the air, Aviation Nation has once again
teamed up with On Board Images to provide multiple in-cockpit
live cameras feeds to the broadcast,” Lee continued. “We will
also be working with the U.S. Air Force to beam live in-cockpit
video from the Thunderbirds and feeds from other sources to the
LED screens and Internet.”
“We look forward to working with WhiteBlox to
expose an entirely new audience to ‘America’s Air Show,”’ Avery
said. “It’s amazing to think of someone thousands of miles away
viewing from inside the cockpit of a Thunderbirds aircraft as
they fly their homecoming show live over Nellis Air Force Base.
Not only will this new component allow us to reach those who are
unable to attend, it will also provide an archive where people
can go back and either relive their air show experience or learn
more about Aviation Nation.”
