Partners Aviation
photographer Dan Patterson (Dayton, OH)
is managing editor of the Heritage to
Horizons project. Dan Patterson and
Ron Dicks publishing credits
include American Eagles A
History of the United States Air Force
and The Century of Aviation, a
five-volume book project that has grown
into a unique aviation history resource.
They have recently completed the last
book of the Aviation Century series, War
& Peace In the Air. Dan traveled
to ten countries making nearly 40,000
images for this landmark project.
Air Vice-Marshal (retired)
Ron Dick (Fredericksburg, VA) is
historian and writer for the Heritage
to Horizons project. Ron spent most
of the latter years of his Royal Air
Force career at the British Embassy in
Washington, DC. After service in the
Falklands War he returned to Washington
as Head of British Defense Staffs in the
United States. In addition to the above
mentioned books he has completed with Dan
Patterson, the two have collaborated on
production of the books Lancaster,
Spitfire, Messerschmitt Bf109
and Hurricane.
Air &
Space/Smithsonian magazine
(Washington, DC) has endorsed the Heritage
to Horizons project and will be an
editorial contributor. Air & Space,
the magazine of the Smithsonian
Institutions National Air and Space
Museum, has delighted aerospace
enthusiasts for more than two decades
with the best writing about every era of
aviation and space exploration.
The National Aviation Hall
of Fame (Dayton, OH) has endorsed the
Heritage to Horizons project and will
also contribute editorial content.
Founded in 1962 and chartered by Congress
in 1964, the National Aviation Hall of
Fames mission is dedicated to
honoring Americas outstanding air
and space pioneers.
Aviation illustrator John
Batchelor will contribute numerous pieces
of work, including original work
commissioned for the Heritage to
Horizons project. John is the most
published aviation illustrator in the
world with numerous international awards
to his credit. John has created the
artwork for postage stamps of forty-four
nations of the world. His work spans 46
years and has been published in many
languages on all continents.
Tyson Rininger, an
accomplished aviation photographer known
for fabulous work at many of
Americas top air shows, will
contribute some of his best work to the
project.
Fine art photographer
Nicholas Price (Las Vegas, NV) will
contribute a feature chapter taken from
his large fine art book, Cleared Hot!, a
unique black and white photographic essay
capturing the human story behind the men
and women of the United States Air Force.
This exclusive fine art collection will
be on display in a special hangar gallery
at Aviation Nation, the Nellis Air Force
Base Las Vegas Air Show in
November 2006. After the air show the
collection will depart on a one-year
national tour and then return to Aviation
Nation for the final exhibition in
November 2007 at the 60th Anniversary of
the USAF culminating event.
